RIDGELAND, Miss. (WJTV) – The City of Ridgeland is considering removing fluoride from its drinking water.
According to Ridgeland Mayor Gene McGee, fluoride wasn’t available to purchase from the city’s suppliers for more than three years due to supply chain issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Ridgeland’s inability to provide fluoride is not unique; almost all Mississippi cities experienced this same temporary shortage of fluoride in the last few years. Cities worked with the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) throughout the shortage period to maintain water quality compliance,” said McGee.
