‘No more than 21 months is sufficient’: Warnock asks for leniency ahead of sentencing

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A former CMU engineer is asking for leniency ahead of his sentencing in a nearly decade-old Canton bribery scandal.

On Thursday, Rudy Warnock filed his sentencing memorandum, urging the judge to take into consideration his military service, his work as an engineer, and lack of a prior criminal record.

Attorney John Colette, who filed the paperwork on his client’s behalf, based on those factors, along with already established sentencing rules, 21 months in prison is “sufficient.”…
