‘I’m not the guy they accuse me to be’: Suspect charged in Jackson mass shooting still seeks preliminary hearing

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A Jackson man charged in connection with a deadly shooting hours after the Hal’s St. Paddy’s Parade is still seeking a preliminary hearing, months after he was taken into custody.

Marquavius McLeod is charged with capital murder and six counts of aggravated assault for his alleged role in the March 22 incident, which left one person dead and seven others injured.

McLeod and his brother, Michael, have been in custody since March 27, when they were arrested by Capitol Police…
