JACKSON, Miss (WJTV) – With a significant drop in the temperatures expected in Jackson, Stewpot’s Opportunity Center Day Shelter will be open for those in need.
Forecasts indicate lows in the upper teens to low 20s in Jackson overnight on December 14 and into December 15, 2025. Stewpot’s shelter will be open during that time.

The Opportunity Center will open its doors at 5:00 p.m. on both days. Guests will be welcomed with access to hot showers, a warm meal and a safe, heated place to sleep throughout the night.
“We want our community members to know that they have a warm and secure place to go during this dangerous cold spell,” said Javonda Standon, director of the Opportunity Center.“No one should have to endure freezing temperatures without shelter.”…
