Jackson event links entrepreneurs with city leaders

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson hosted the “Doing Business with the City” event on Thursday, brining entrepreneurs, city leaders and community partners together.

“What’s going on this evening is a connection of community leaders and the businesses that do operate here in the City of Jackson. With me being one, I am definitely excited to be here,” said Olivia Draine, with Renasant Bank.

Organizers said the goal was to make sure businesses understand the steps to become a vendor, get licensed and successfully contract with the city.

“People, I think, don’t necessarily know all of the steps that are necessary to become a contractor with the City of Jackson. They don’t necessarily have the information given on the how to and the why and the benefits of it.
