Jackson woman sentenced for filing fraudulent loans

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A Jackson woman was sentenced on one count of false pretenses, according to Attorney General Lynn Fitch (R-Miss.).

Investigators said Kiana Rochelle Cooper, a former employee of LoanMax Title Loans, knowingly filed fraudulent loans using the stolen personal identity information of others.

“My office is committed to holding those who defraud Mississippians and our businesses accountable,” said Fitch. “Fraud is not a victimless crime; it hurts hardworking individuals. I am thankful for the incredible team of investigators and prosecutors who ensured that justice was served in this case.”

On November 20, 2025, Cooper was sentenced to 10 years in custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) with two years to serve and an additional five years of post-release supervision upon release. Cooper was also ordered to pay $44,948.00 in restitution to her victims.
