JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program in the Jackson metro area is seeing increased donations this year, which officials say may be connected to the program’s growing popularity on social media.
Thousands of content creators are documenting their Angel Tree shopping experiences online, with some videos receiving millions of views and likes.
“I guess we can connect it to the social media,” said Major Timothy Delaney, who has served with the Salvation Army for 20 years. “But we definitely have seen an increase of people adopting the Angels, shopping for the Angels, and actually returning the gifts.”…
