JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Kids laughing. Kids cheering. That was the scene Sunday at New Hope Baptist Church as the Reaching and Educating for Community Hope Foundation brought joy to dozens of children whose parents are incarcerated.
“They are stigmatized by the alleged wrongdoing of their parents. And so these children need to be encouraged, uplifted, and their self-esteem boosted,” said Pauline Rogers, Executive Director of the RECH Foundation. “And so this is a way of doing that, and for the parents on the inside to know that somebody remembered their children when they can’t during this time of year.”
