First Alert Weather Day Tuesday: Arctic Air Moves In

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) -A First Alert Weather Day is in effect for Tuesday as frigid temperatures settle in, a stark contrast to the unseasonably warm weather we experienced over the weekend. A Wind Advisory and a Cold Weather Advisory remain in effect for some of our counties.

After starting in the upper 60s, temperatures climbed into the low 80s under partly cloudy skies over the weekend. A cold front moved through early this morning, bringing a line of light to moderate showers and an isolated rumble of thunder. While the main rain has pushed east, a few lingering showers may still be possible early this morning.

Skies will gradually clear as the day progresses, but temperatures will drop quickly behind the front. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 40s, though gusty winds will keep wind chill values in the 30s…
