Piney Woods School selects alumnus to head new program

JANS – Rahim Lockhart has been tapped to lead The Piney Wood School’s newly created Government and African American Studies program. A third-generation legacy graduate (Class of 1996), Lockhart follows in the footsteps of his grandmother, Ruby McAfee, who graduated from Piney Woods in 1927.

Lockhart brings more than 23 years of nonprofit experience, having served in impactful roles with organizations such as the Boys and Girls Clubs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Striving Children of Rural Environments. His work has been grounded in developing youth, strengthening families, and building opportunities for communities often overlooked or underserved…
