Here’s one way Jackson’s water manager says a 12% rate hike could be cut in half

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A position paper presented to a federal judge this week could offer a way to reduce a proposed water rate hike, but it would require the city to take on an additional $40 million in payments.

The paper was submitted to U.S. District Judge Henry Wingate on January 7 by Interim Third-Party Manager Ted Henifin.

It was not turned ahead of another hearing on Henifin’s proposed rate increase. It was not submitted as an official filing and will therefore not be made part of the court record…
