RANKIN COUNTY — The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help after a child’s electric bicycle was taken from a residential driveway earlier this week.
Rankin County Deputies said the incident happened around 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, at a home on Houston Acres near Florence. Investigators said an unknown white male driving an older-model white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was seen loading a blue Lectric XP4 e-bike into the vehicle.
While the investigation remains ongoing, authorities believe the e-bike may have been mistaken for trash or salvage and removed unintentionally. Deputies said the bicycle belonged to a child and had been received as a Christmas gift.
Investigators released images of the vehicle, noting it has a black toolbox, a distinctive black rim on the rear passenger-side wheel, and a sticker on the rear window reading “In God We Trust.”…
