The Jackson Police Department is warning motorists that illegal street racing and drag racing on public roadways is prohibited and may result in arrest or citations.
In a public safety message, police said the department takes reports of drag racing seriously and emphasized that racing on public streets is banned under City of Jackson ordinances and Mississippi law, including Mississippi Statute 63-3-1215.
