Jackson truck driving school aims to set drivers up for success

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A local truck driver school is preparing students to hit the road. Officials with the newly renovated Roadmaster Truck Driving School in Jackson want to set them up for success.

“This gives people an opportunity to go from unemployed or underemployed to making an average about $66,000 in their first year,” said Brad Ball, president of the school.

Long hours carrying thousands of pounds of products can be dangerous, so having the right educational foundation is important.

“The demand is still good for properly trained and qualified drivers. And that’s been the big challenge in the industry, is making sure that we do get those drivers in the industry as opposed to maybe somebody that goes through a less than quality training school,” said Hal Miller, with the Mississippi Trucking Association…
