JACKSON – Mayor John Horhn recently honored Southwestern Athletic Conference Commissioner Dr. Charles F. McClelland with an official mayoral proclamation and the Key to the City of Jackson in recognition of his outstanding leadership, lifelong service, and impact on collegiate athletics.
A proud native of Jackson and graduate of Callaway High School, Dr. McClelland has distinguished himself as a nationally respected athletics administrator and champion for student‑athletes, particularly at historically Black colleges and universities. The proclamation acknowledges his many professional accomplishments, his commitment to educational and athletic excellence, and his passion for helping young athletes succeed in the classroom, in competition, and in life.
