JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – The sound of African drums filled the Jackson Medical Mall Sunday for the first-ever Afro Beats and Arts Expo.
The Jackson Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. hosted the event on the first day of Black History Month.
“The purpose of this event is for us to bring awareness to the arts in various forms through dance, through song, through art itself, and drawing,” Jackson Alumnae Chapter President Nakisha Davis said. “And so it feels good to be able to put on such an event for the community so that they can come out and see the various forms of arts that are available within our community.”…
