JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Sister Thea Bowman, a nun born in Yazoo City and whose life was dedicated to service and racial justice, is now one step closer to becoming a canonized Saint.
On Monday, a Closing Ceremony for Bowman was held at the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle in Jackson. In front of the stone altar sat a stack of cream-colored boxes wrapped with bright red string, each holding documents, testimonies, and findings related to Bowman’s life works.
This closing session officially sealed the acts of the diocesan phase, and the documents and testimonies will begin their trek to the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints at the Vatican…
