12-year-old arrested for online threats to Clinton schools

CLINTON, Miss. (WJTV) – Clinton police announced a 12-year-old was arrested for making social media threats against two schools.

Robert Chapman, director of Communications for the Clinton Public School District, said administrators at Clinton Junior High and Sumner Hill were made aware of the social media posts on the evening of February 11, 2026.

Chapman said district and campus administration, along with School Resource Officers, began to investigate.

On February 12, Clinton police identified a 12-year-old suspect, who was arrested by law enforcement officers. Chapman said the 12-year-old will face β€œall consequences legally allowed.”…
