Scattered storms likely this weekend after warm week

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) -Temperatures warmed into the mid 70s this afternoon under partly cloudy skies. Tonight, we will only cool into the mid-50s before gearing up for another warm day on Saturday.

After a mostly dry afternoon in the mid 70s, Saturday night marks a noticeable shift in the weather pattern. A line of potentially strong thunderstorms is expected to move overnight ahead of a cold front that will pass Sunday morning.

The peak timing for these storms will be from 10 pm Saturday to 4 am Sunday as the line moves from west to east. While heavy rainfall is expected across the area during this time, isolated strong wind gusts and spin-up tornadoes cannot be ruled out completely…
