Encompass Health Corporation has revealed plans to build a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Flowood, Mississippi. This facility will offer specialized care to patients recovering from serious conditions such as strokes, neurological disorders, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic problems. The hospital, which will have 50 beds, is expected to open in 2027 and marks Encompass Health’s second location in Mississippi following its Gulfport hospital.
Patients at the new Flowood hospital will receive 24-hour nursing care. The staff will include specialized nurses, therapists, and physicians, providing physical, occupational, and speech therapy to help patients regain strength and improve their quality of life. The facility aims to support patients as they work towards independence and recovery, tailoring services to individual needs.
The hospital will be equipped with private rooms for patients, a therapy gym featuring advanced rehabilitation technologies, and an “activities of daily living suite” where patients can practice essential routines.
