BRANDON, Miss. (WJTV) – The 7th Annual Krewe de Roux Gumbo Festival was held on Saturday at the Brandon Amphitheater. Nearly 60 teams provided gumbo of different varieties.
“It’s a big family event. You can come out and just bring the kids. You can have gumbo from all sorts of different people. Make seafood all the way to just a traditional gumbo,” said Baltazar Benavidas, an attendee.
The team that won first place in the seafood category was Community Bank, and the first place winner in the non-seafood category was Rankin County Kiwanis. The overall winner was Academic Technologies.
