‘Deeply disappointed’: City Council reacts to judge’s decision granting JXN Water rate increase

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Members of the Jackson City Council generally oppose a recent decision by U.S. District Judge Henry Wingate to approve a rate increase for JXN Water.

On Monday, Wingate handed down an order approving a 12% increase for the utility. Figures provided by JXN Water say the rate hike will amount to a roughly $9 a month bump for typical residential customers.
