MADISON COUNTY — The Mississippi Department of Corrections said inmates at the Madison County Community Work Center recently completed a financial literacy boot camp aimed at helping participants build money management skills.
MDOC said the class was offered through a partnership with the Mississippi Community Financial Access Coalition and Guaranty Bank.
The department said 24 participants took part in the program. Inmate Earvin Boglin told fellow participants that saving money requires time, self-discipline and patience, and said he learned the importance of avoiding high-cost borrowing such as payday loans…
