Mississippi Museum of Natural Science to debut CrawFest celebrating state’s iconic crustacean

JACKSON — The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks’ Mississippi Museum of Natural Science will host the inaugural CrawFest on Saturday, Feb. 28, inviting visitors to celebrate one of the state’s most recognizable native species through food, music and science.

The family-friendly event will take place from noon to 5 p.m. at the museum and will feature crawfish-themed cuisine, live music and hands-on educational activities exploring crawfish habitats and ecosystems across Mississippi.

Guests can purchase crawfish-inspired dishes from local food vendors, including Sal & Phil’s Seafood and Dr. Flava’s Louisiana Kitchen, while enjoying live entertainment from TB Ledford and the Accumulators, known for blending country blues, bluegrass and jug-band influences…
