JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Two children were injured during a shooting at a Jackson apartment complex.
The shooting occurred at Wood Village Apartments at Wood Village Drive on March 6, 2026.
Man convicted of killing woman, unborn child in Jackson
Jackson Police Chief and Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said a nine-year-old and a three-year-old were shot inside of an apartment. They were both transported to a local hospital for treatment. Jones said the children have non-life-threatening injuries and were listed in stable condition.
Jones said some individuals were detained for questioning. Investigators don’t believe the shooting was intentional.
