JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Repairs are underway on a Jackson road that one councilman said has been plagued by “tire-killing” potholes.
At the intersection of County Line Road and Old Canton Road, potholes in the southbound lane have been causing problems for drivers for weeks. Officials said a water leak beneath the roadway helped create many of the potholes. They traced the source of the problem to a pipe about 10 feet below the surface of the road.
“We have an eight-inch ductile iron line. And there is a fitting that allows that line to turn and go across the road, and it’s leaking at the feet,” said Charles Smith, senior project manager for Wicker Construction…
