JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Dozens of Jackson residents gathered at the Patton House Gallery for the kickoff of Operation: Zero Out, a grassroots initiative aimed at helping elderly and disabled residents struggling with exorbitant or inaccurate water bills.
Ethel Boose said her water has been shut off since December, yet she continues to receive bills exceeding $300.
“My water is off. It’s been off since December of last year. But I’ve paid my bill, but they have not credited my bill yet,” Boose said. “And I’m getting bills for over $300. But my water is off. It’s not on. I’m not even utilizing it.”…
