JACKSON, Miss. — Authorities in Jackson are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 24-year-old man early Sunday morning.
According to police, officers assigned to Precinct Four were dispatched around 2:30 a.m. on March 22 to the 6300 block of Ridgewood Road following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers secured the area and requested additional investigative support.
The department’s Robbery Homicide Unit and Mobile Crime Unit responded to process the scene and begin gathering evidence. Preliminary findings indicate that the victim, identified as Joshua Butler, was shot after an altercation.
