JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Illegal tire dumping fills our communities with unsightly and hazardous debris, while disposal options are readily available. One Jackson company turns used treads into new products, improving our environment.
In minutes, tires loaded onto a conveyor inside MS Tire Recycling go through machinery that shreds discarded rubber into recyclable materials. 3,000 tires are processed daily, reducing the number of illegal tires in the city.
“Anybody that rides around the City of Jackson just sees them everywhere, and people are open to come here and bring their own tires,” MS Tire Recycling president Rickey Moore said. “Most of the time, they just want to throw them on the side of the road and allow the city to pick them up and bring them here, but it’s a costly venture.”…
