JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Last week, WJTV 12 News reported about a West Jackson resident who was dealing with illegal dumping in her neighborhood, as well as the cleanup efforts that followed.
Jackson City Councilman Vernon Hartley, Ward 5, said beyond cleanup crews, he’s working with the Community Improvement Division to contact property owners because the city cannot remove debris from private property.

Hartley said he’s requested a blue light camera from Jackson police, but there’s no timeline for installation.
