Jackson State Track and Field Sets School Records at Southern Miss Invite

HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Jackson State’s men and women’s track and field teams achieved several milestones at the Southern Miss Invitational held April 3-4. The Tigers set two new school records, secured three first-place finishes, and recorded numerous personal bests.

Senior Da’Lon Harris improved upon his previous school record in the hammer throw, reaching 53.12 meters. Harris had previously set a mark of 53.07 meters last week. Junior Nedgine Morancy also made history, jumping 12.24 meters in the women’s triple jump to set a new school record and earn first place in the event.

Other notable performances included Kaiden Berry winning the men’s discus with a throw of 51.94 meters and Rickey Green III clocking 14.29 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles to claim first place. Several athletes posted personal bests, including Malayna Mallory with three, Jaime Henderson Jr. with two, and Kaylin Jackson with two in the 800-meter and 1500-meter races…
