Clarion Ledger records show that while homicides in Jackson have steadily increased in the first three months of 2026, the yearly number of homicides in the city is declining compared to a similar period in previous years.
Jackson recorded 18 homicides as of March 31, 2026, with three in January, six in February and nine in March.
