JPD to host Tuesday Talks at Precinct 2

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police will launch a new effort to connect teens with resources and mentorship through a program called “Tuesday Talks at Precinct Two,” which begins on April 7, 2026.

The initiative is open to teens ages 13 to 18 and is designed to promote leadership, confidence and responsibility. Lt. Christian Vance, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said the department is partnering with several local organizations and community leaders to make the program possible.

Those partners include the Briarwood Arts Center, the Jackson Leadership Foundation and local entrepreneurs, all working together to provide guidance and opportunities for young people.

Vance said the goal is to bring resources directly to teens before they face serious challenges. The program will cover topics like resume building, trade schools, college preparation, peer pressure, teen dating violence and online safety…
