All 129 students at Shirley D. Simmons Middle School were awarded laptops this afternoon by Comcast in celebration of the completion of a multi-million-dollar broadband project that has brought high speed internet connectivity to rural parts of north Madison County.
Madison County Schools Deputy Superintendent Austin Brown said the school district appreciated the generosity of Comcast for donating a laptop to every student at Shirley D. Simmons Middle School.
