Jackson feeling the pinch at the pump as gas prices surge following start of Iran conflict

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – As Jackson grapples with how to make up a $23 million budget shortfall, leaders are now having to address rising gas prices.

Documents obtained by 3 On Your Side show Fuelman expenses for the city have gone up nearly 64% since February 28, the start of the Iran war.

Council Finance Chair Tina Clay says the increase will likely mean having to make cuts to non-essential spending elsewhere in the city…
