JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) -Early this Thursday morning, rain and a few thunderstorms are already moving through the area. These are caused by a weak disturbance and, while you may hear some thunderstorms, but they are expected to stay below severe limits.
Looking ahead into Friday night, the main concern shifts to a widespread, long-lasting rain event. Rain is expected to become steadier and more persistent on Friday and continue into Friday night. While thunderstorms should remain fairly limited, total rainfall could add up to around 1 to 3 inches. Because of that, some low-lying or flood-prone areas could see minor flooding, especially where the ground is already saturated.
Rain should gradually taper off during the day Saturday, with improving conditions by Sunday as sunshine returns. Cooler air will move in behind the system, making it feel more like early spring again. Highs will be in the low 70s and 60s, and morning lows could dip into the 40s and 50s, with Sunday morning likely the coolest stretch…
