JACKSONVILLE, Florida — A 38-year-old Jacksonville man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for attempting to entice a 13-year-old child to engage in sexual activity.
Jerry Alexander Cobb, of Jacksonville, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jordan E. Pratt after pleading guilty on February 20, 2026. In addition to his prison sentence, Cobb was ordered to serve a 12-year term of supervised release and to register as a sex offender, according to U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe.
Court documents reveal that between July 18 and August 1, 2025, an undercover FBI agent in Jacksonville conducted an operation on a social media app to identify adults seeking sexual contact with children. During the operation, Cobb, using the app handle “Jerry,” exchanged messages with the agent, who posed as a 13-year-old child.
