City of Jacksonville relocating some Friendship Fountain events due to nearby construction

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Some of the City of Jacksonville’s largest events at Friendship Fountain are being moved to other city parks as construction tied to a nearby residential development reduces access to the popular downtown destination.

The Jacksonville Parks Department announced the changes last week, prompting questions from some residents about ongoing construction surrounding the fountain and the demolition of the former Museum of Science & History building.
