JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A month-long narcotics investigation in Jacksonville’s Herlong neighborhood led to the seizure of 11 firearms, fentanyl, cocaine and other drugs, resulting in the arrest of a 51-year-old man now being held on a $700,000 bond.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, detectives launched the investigation after receiving a community tip alleging illegal drug sales from a residence on Bramble Road off Wilson Boulevard.
Investigators with the Narcotics Unit confirmed that Donald Leon Rogers, 51, was allegedly using the home to distribute illegal narcotics. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence, and on Thursday, July 30, members of the Narcotics Unit and the SWAT Team executed the warrant.
Drugs, Firearms and Cash Seized
During the search, investigators recovered:
- Approximately 2.2 grams of fentanyl, which officials said equates to about 1,100 potentially lethal doses
- 36.2 grams of powder cocaine
- 135.3 grams of marijuana
- 11 firearms, including six handguns and five rifles
- More than $1,300 in cash
Rogers was arrested and booked into the Duval County Jail, where he remains in custody on a $700,000 bond.
