FHP: Jacksonville man dies in fiery I-95 crash near Ormond Beach

A 57-year-old Jacksonville man driving a semi-trailer died in a fiery crash Aug. 13 that shut down southbound Interstate 95 near Ormond Beach through rush hour traffic. The driver rear-ended another semi-trailer that was stopped after hitting a deer, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred at 2:48 a.m., Florida troopers said. The southbound side of the highway was closed for around nine hours and is now reopened, according to FHP’s live crash dashboard…
