North Florida hardcore promoter Mike Ciero diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer, Gofundme launched

Longtime Florida hardcore promoter Mike Ciero has been diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer after the cancer was discovered during a recent appendix surgery.

Originally coming up through the New York hardcore scene, Ciero later relocated to Florida and has spent nearly three decades involved in the regional music community, performing in bands while also booking and promoting shows throughout the state and across the South. He would also go on to manage North Florida crossover/thrash outfit Rhythm Of Fear.

In Jacksonville, Ciero has been a fixture of the local scene for decades. During the early 2000s, he regularly booked the Duval underground/alt venue Thee Imperial, bringing through acts including Converge, Poison The Well, Every Time I Die, Most Precious Blood and even The Killers in 2004…
