A Florida woman bit a law enforcement officer, and she was sentenced for her crime. After biting a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office patrol officer and physically resisting arrest outside a local charter school, Erika McGriff pled guilty to Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer and has been adjudicated guilty.
The incident occurred on October 7, 2025, after Officer Randy Holton contacted McGriff about her illegally parked vehicle outside the school. When McGriff refused to obey the officer’s lawful orders to move it, he attempted to take her into custody. McGriff violently resisted, biting Officer Holton hard enough to leave a visible impression on his arm.
