JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville man was arrested last week after a Jacksonville Sheriff’s officer clocked him driving 108 mph in a posted 65 mph zone on Interstate 295 South.
According to his arrest report, the 22-year-old driver later admitted he was speeding because he was late for work.
News4JAX is not naming the suspect because he was charged with misdemeanor.
The traffic stop
Just before 6 a.m. on Sept. 2, a JSO patrol officer was running stationary laser radar near the I-295 South and I-95 North interchange when he spotted a dark-colored GMC Yukon weaving between vehicles with dim headlights.
