UF Health Jacksonville launched a new mobile medical unit on Wednesday, bringing primary and preventive care directly to neighborhoods across Northeast Florida.
The unit will initially operate through a series of pilot locations to evaluate local health care needs across Duval, Clay, Nassau and Baker counties. Rather than starting with a permanent schedule, the pilot model aims to gather utilization data to establish a sustainable long-term route while connecting patients to the broader UF Health network.
The mobile unit offers several preventive and diagnostic services, including blood pressure, A1C diabetes and cholesterol screenings.
