Deputies with the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office assisted state law enforcement in apprehending an 18-year-old wanted on an aggravated robbery charge on Sept. 17. Zion Rackley was taken into custody on an island east of Interstate 95 near the Georgia state line after a coordinated search.
The operation began as a joint effort with the Florida Department of Agriculture’s Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement to track Rackley in a wooded area near the Georgia border.
The sheriff’s office Drone Unit first spotted Rackley hiding on the island. Following the location report, the Marine Unit deployed an airboat to transport the apprehension team, including K9 Leo, across the water to the island…
