The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported shooting in the Grand Park area at 23rd Street West and Mecca St.

Reports from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office state that around 9 p.m., officers responded to West 23rd Street and Mecca Street about a person shot.
An adult male in his late teens suffered a gunshot graze to the shoulder.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department arrived and treated the victim for a minor injury.
The victim was not transported to a local hospital.
JSO’s initial investigation determined that two men were shooting at a vehicle, and it is unclear if the occupants of that vehicle were returning gunfire.
During the exchange of gunfire, the victim was struck. The description of the suspects were two black males wearing dark clothing, and the vehicle was a dark sedan of unknown make or model. During the incident, no other homes or vehicles were struck by gunfire.
Violent Crimes Detectives have been searching for witnesses and video surveillance.
