Carnival Cruise Passengers Fall Ill on Bahamas Trip Departing from Jacksonville

Jacksonville, Florida — In a recent cruise voyage that set sail from Jacksonville’s port on a five-day journey to the Bahamas, what was supposed to be a dream vacation turned into a challenging ordeal for many passengers. Reports indicate that passengers and crew members on board the Carnival cruise fell ill on the very first night of the trip, leaving them in discomfort and prompting widespread concern.

The illness on board was initially suspected to be the norovirus, a highly contagious gastrointestinal infection, or possibly food poisoning. Passengers described their experience as unsettling, with many complaining of nausea, vomiting, and other symptoms associated with these conditions.

One passenger, Patrick Welsh, shared his account of the troubling situation. He and his wife were among those affected and noted that the cruise captain had announced the discovery of the illness over the ship’s loudspeaker. “He said that there’s a large portion of the passengers and crew that has what they believed to be the neurovirus,” Welsh said. “We noticed a lot of people were missing, and then we weren’t feeling very good.”
