Jacksonville Jaguars Set To Hire Top SEC Assistant As Defensive Line Coach

The Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly set to hire Auburn defensive line coach Jeremy Garrett. The news was first reported by Matt Zenitz of 247Sports .

Garrett spent one season at Auburn under head coach Hugh Freeze. Under Garrett, Auburn finished Top 50 nationally in both sacks and tackles for loss last season.

Before his season with the Tigers, Garrett served as the defensive line coach at Liberty under Freeze. The Flames led the country in tackles for loss (109) and ranked third nationally in sacks (41).

Garrett has experience coaching at the NFL level. He joined the staff at Liberty after two seasons as an assistant for the Cleveland Browns. He coached multiple notable NFL defensive linemen including Myles Garrett, Jadeveon Clowney, and Oliver Vernon.
