NE Florida adds 324 Area Code: 10-digit Dialing Now Required

Jacksonville will no longer be referred to exclusivley as: “The 904”

You may have recently noticed a change when dialing local numbers in Northeast Florida. You now are being prompted to dial the area code to call any local numbers. This is due to the addition of a new area code in the First Coast area.

With the growing population in Northeast Florida, a new area code was needed to keep up with the influx of new phone numbers. Current customers will keep their 904 area code unless requesting a new line or number. New customers or anyone adding additional lines may be given the new 324 area code.

Jacksonville, Orange Park, Fernandina Beach and surrounding communities will no longer be referred to exclusively as “the 904”; instead it will be “the 904 and the 324”
