Jaguars’ Tony Khan: ‘I Really Believe in Doug Pederson’

The Jacksonville Jaguars saw the 2023 season fall apart over the final month-and-a-half, but that doesn’t change much about the big picture.

For Jaguars owner and Chief Football Strategy Officer Tony Khan, that starts and and with head coach Doug Pederson.

When asked about what types of edges the Jaguars have moving forward while speaking with Cam Newton on the 4th&1 Podcast, Khan talked about Pederson first and foremost.

“I really believe in Doug Pederson. I think he’s a great guy and a great coach and people want to play for Doug. I mean, you played for a lot of coaches, and I’ve been in the league. This is my 13th season. And for me, Doug is the standard that I’ve been around,” Khan said.

The Jaguars are 18-16 in the regular season under Pederson after winning 15 regular-season games in the four previous seasons combined. Pederson has led the Jaguars to back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2004-2005.

The 2023 season ended in failure because the Jaguars went 1-5 down the stretch, a period that was filled with injuries at key positions and missed opportunities in primetime. But despite missing the playoffs, Pederson is still the man for the job for the Jaguars.
